I want to file the tax return in India. This will be my first time filing ITR since I left India. I’m looking for a qualified CA to do so. Need recommendation/reference though. If anyone has dealt with any CA before for filing tax returns in India and if he has been good then feel free to refer to him.

I’m also looking to file my ITR. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with those online tax filing services in India? Are they any good based on personal experiences? Their reviews are horrible so I don’t want to touch them unless I know that they are good.

@bobby Hello Sir, I’m a qualified CA based out of Bangalore. I’ve helped many NRIs in filing their Indian ITR. I can help you with that. Please share your contact details so that I can reach out to you.

Hello, I’ve earnings from investments capital gain, dividends from stock investments and saving interest. Can you let me know if we need to file ITR in India if we don’t have any actual earnings as such.

AFAIK filing ITR in India is not mandatory as long as you declare it in tax return in your country of residence. Indians deduct taxes at source anyways so it is all accounted for. Interest is taxed by banks and files with IT, dividends from stock investment also comes with tax deduction. Stock buy/sell all are taxed at source and brokers take care of it.

The only issue you could face with not filing ITR in India is that in some cases system in India may ask you for ITR in India as they wouldn’t accept foreign tax returns.

You will have to file ITR if your earning is above threshold and there it is not taxed. E.g. of such earning could be rental income. Even in this case you can avoid filing ITR in India as you could show it in your foreign tax return.
