Hi all,

I need help.

I’m in the UK and I’ve my own Limited company registered in England. I’m web developer and I’m the only director.

I had business bank account with Lloyds bank for a long time.

Today I received a bunch of paper forms asking me to provide more information regarding my business.

The title of letter is

We need some information from you to keep your account(is) secure

Can anyone help me understand why are they asking these details?

We need some information from you to keep your account(is) secure.

Can anyone help me understand why are they asking these details?

Once upon a time I used to have a business bank account with HSBC Plc. It was long time back, almost over a decade. Everything was going perfect till these suckers decided to screw my business bank account.

I also received similar forms (online/phone) to complete.

I completed this painful and lengthy process once. They accepted it. After few months they asked me to do it again over the phone. I told them I’ve already done it but they insisted they have to do it again. So I completed it twice. I thought this time it will end the saga but I was wrong.

They contacted me again third time and threatened that they will close the account if I don’t comply. So I had to do it again third time.

It didn’t stop here, they went on for few more times and every time I complied to their demand.

In the end HSBC closed my business bank account sighting the reason that I didn’t complete/provided them the information they were looking for. I’, not sure what exactly these suckers were looking for so can’t say for sure why they got pissed off.

So to answer your question why have you received this letter, Lloyds bank may have started a process to close your account.

You may ask “but why”?

The answer to this question, based on my own personal experience, is that they don’t like we Indians make money. As long as you are making less money they wouldn’t be bothered, as soon as you start making a lot of money they will close your account.

What to do now?

This is the next question you will ask. Fill up the form and send them back along with all the documents they have requested and wait.

Meanwhile open new business bank account on any other bank just to be ready in case Lloyds close your business account.

All these British banks are the same, they are fucking racist for Indians. Don’t get me started. I don’t want to rant on this topic. I have had horrible experiences with most of these so called High Street banks.

Barclays bank is the worst, they are certified racists towards Indians. I’ve tried them few times and in different decades. Same result, Indians are not welcomes in the Barclays bank.

That is so ridiculous. What is the point to fill up all the forms which are 18 pages long only to find out that they will close my account?

If you don’t fill up the form they they will also close your account.

So you have to fill up the forms no matter how painful it is.

If they close your account after you have submitted them form then that will prove that Lloyds bank are also certified racist towards Indians.

It may be phishing, did you call Lloyds Bank to verify if this is legit?

OMG! I never thought about that. Forms look so legit so didn’t have doubt that it could be fake. Lloyds bank is closed now so I’ll call them tomorrow.
