I was wondering if anyone has any success with SBI NRI Home Loan process? I tried to apply, first it said it is approved during the application process and after collecting all the details it rejected application.

Do they really give any loan or just collect personal details and reject application?

Here is the message I got after completing the SBI NRI Home Loan Application.

We regret to inform you that we are currently unable to process your Home Loan request.

Please contact our nearest Branch for further assistance.

I remember when I was in India all these bank agents used to stand in front of our office and beg to take loans and credit cards. Has things changed recently? Why would they reject? What was the amount you requested?

No clue bro, I’m also out of India since long time and out of touch with things there.

I requested for 1.5Cr, they showed around 66L, I went ahead and then they rejected.

How much you save per year after paying off all other loans, credit cards, bills etc?

Around 60L.

They approved 66L on a 60L per annum savings? LOL that is fucking hilarious.

Banks normally approve around 4-5 times your income minus outgoings. This is worst case scenario. It applies to any country.

Something is messed up.

Did you try contacting a human @ SBI?
