Wanted to review Red Fox Hotel, Aerocity, Delhi Airport. I’ve stayed in this hotel a few times as my connecting flights were always the next day. I never get immediate connecting flights. I chose this hotel after reading so many positive reviews which were true in the beginning but not anymore.

In the beginning this hotel was good (and newly built), it was pricey but I didn’t mind that. It used to be a perfect overnight stay for me. I used to check-in at night, get up in the morning, get free breakfast and go to the airport to catch the flight.

During my last stay which was in winter, I came across a life threatening situation. It was cold so I decided to switch off A/C, I found it difficult to breathe as without A/C there is no air circulation and there are no windows in the room which you can open to get fresh air. I thought I can live without A/C during the night while I was sleeping I almost started to suffocate for the lack of air, I had to switch on A/c at the minimum to survive.

That was the first issue with this hotel.

Then the piss smell start to appear. It must be either real piss smell coming out of the A/C vent or it may have been foul air due to lack of maintenance. Hard to tell but it was piss like smell which I’e to live with for the entire duration.

Second issue which I’ve faced is that during busy time it gets crowded and you have to stand with plate in the line to get breakfast like you do in a wedding.

Third issue which I faced during my first stay was with a couple who came to sit next to my table in the restaurant and started talking loudly over their phones. Restaurant was empty and they could have sat anywhere specially when they knew they have to show off their phones. It is not the hotel’s fault but they should slap a notice in the restaurant letting guests to be quiet.

Fourth Issue with this hotel is that they have airport like security. They have X-ray scanners for luggage and for humans. This is fucking sick, this is a fucking private hotel and not PM’s house. Why the fuck they have such security? If someone wants to blow up piss smelling hotel then they would not come thru front door would they?

And the last issue is that their taxi pickup and drop off service is a rip-off. They charge around 3-4 times more than normal/Uber taxi charges. Airport is just around the corner, around 3 km from the hotel to the terminal. Don’t use their pickup/drop off service.

On my next visit I’ll have to find a new hotel as I’m done with this hotel.

Hotels in India are nightmare. You will never get any decent hotel anywhere in India. They always have issues. I’ve stayed in hotels all around India and I’ve my own fair share of bad experience with hotels.

In one hotel in Bangalore I found cockroaches crawling over my face, I complained to the manager next day who shouted at boys “cockroach maro room me”. I though they would get rid of it but on by return to the same night I found it hiding behind bed. I’ve to exterminate it myself.

In another hotel in Bangalore, near Brigade road, there was earthquake during stay. Tried to find out what was going on as trembling was constant throughout the day. It turns out that they were digging a basement for a shopping complex next door. They should have shut down the hotel as it is not a nice experience.

Once I stayed in Hotel in central Delhi, 4 star hotel. I think it was Hotel Harsh or some similar name. Heard workers talking in full ma behen language. Complained to the front desk, no action taken.

Aman bhai not sure what you are complaining about? whole country stinks, anywhere you turn your head you will find pile of garbage. Air is polluted, land is polluted, there is 24×7 constant honking on the roads and in the streets. People shouting, fighting everywhere. It’s an eternal chaos. You shouldn’t have high expectations for a decent hotel in such country.

Hotels where there are no windows in rooms are lethal. Never stay in such hotels.

I’ve stayed in few 5 star hotels in India, some of them did have windows which could open.

Always check before you book a room.

Rest of the things which you have complained are not issue but a normal thing in India.

Lemon tree hotels are normally good, I’ve stayed in few of them in other cities. X-ray and security stuff is sick. It doesn’t make any sense like rest of everything in India.

Thanks for the review though as I might have stayed in this hotel in the future but thanks to your review I’ll avoid it now.

May be you are too sensitive? It can’t be that bad that you have to feel suffocation in a room?
